River Song is shaped by Balinese craft. Walls are carved with lotus and fern, rooms are hung with original canvases, and guests are invited to make something of their own to take home. Nothing here is mass-produced. Everything has a maker.
Across the estate, entire walls become relief panels: lotus ponds, climbing ferns and flowering vines cut into pale stone by Balinese carvers.
They frame lounges, doorways and terraces, and change with the light through the day, sharp at noon and soft at dusk.

Large original canvases hang in the rooms and shared spaces, in deep magentas, reds and violets drawn from the flowers of the garden. Every room has its own piece to wake up to.

Spend an afternoon folding, binding and dyeing your own length of cloth, then unfold it to see what the colour has done.
No two pieces come out alike. Guests leave with a scarf or sarong that carries the memory of the stay.

The craft continues into the private spaces, where natural materials are shaped into rooms you use every day.

Bathroom walls laid stone by stone from dark river rock, set with amethyst and a carved stone basin.

Pebble-mosaic tubs scattered with fresh petals, open to the canopy and the bougainvillea.

Heal.
Let go.
Enjoy.
A hand-lettered sign on the steps down through the garden, and perhaps the simplest way to describe what the art at River Song is for.
Every room at River Song has its own carvings and canvases. Book your stay and ask the team to arrange a textile session during your visit.
